The rules for using this directory
These terms apply when you access or use https://osinttools.me, including its category pages, directory records, favorites, tool submissions and account features. If you do not agree with them, do not use the site.
A linked resource is outside the OSINT Tools service. Visiting or using it may create a separate agreement between you and that resource's operator.
Discovery, classification and reference
OSINT Tools provides a directory for locating software, public databases, search interfaces, repositories and reference resources associated with open-source research. A record can include a name, short description, category, icon, command-line label and external URL.
The site generally does not operate the third-party tools it lists. It does not conduct research for users, supply access rights to external data or verify a user's authority to use a destination service.
OSINT Tools organizes links and reference notes. The destination operator controls the tool, its data, its availability and the conditions under which it can be used.
Independent destinations have independent rules
External services, repositories and databases are operated independently unless a page explicitly states otherwise. Their functionality, ownership, prices, registration requirements, terms and privacy practices can change without a corresponding change to an OSINT Tools entry.
You are responsible for reviewing the destination before using it or providing information to it. Inclusion in the directory does not automatically constitute endorsement, affiliation, certification or a guarantee that a resource is suitable for a particular task.
Use the site and its links lawfully
Do not use OSINT Tools to facilitate unlawful activity, unauthorized access, malware distribution, harassment, interference with the site, or infringement of privacy, intellectual property or other rights. Do not attempt to bypass site controls or disrupt availability for other visitors.
A directory entry does not grant permission to access a system, collect personal information, reuse data or ignore a platform's terms. Authorization and lawful purpose remain the user's responsibility.
Records can become incomplete or outdated
Names, descriptions, categories, URLs and availability are maintained as practical directory information. They may contain mistakes or stop reflecting a resource after its software, domain, operator or access model changes.
OSINT Tools does not guarantee that every destination will remain available, accurate, safe, unchanged or appropriate for a particular investigation. Confirm important details with the destination's official documentation and other primary sources.
Submitted material may be edited for the directory
If you send a tool suggestion, description or correction, OSINT Tools may review, edit, decline, remove or reclassify it. Submission does not guarantee publication, a specific category, exact wording or featured placement.
You keep any rights you already hold in material you submit. By sending it for directory use, you give OSINT Tools permission to use and adapt that material as needed to evaluate and maintain the relevant entry. Do not submit confidential material or content you do not have the right to share.
Site content and third-party identities are separate
The OSINT Tools name, site design and original directory text belong to their respective site owner or licensors. You may link to public pages and use the site for ordinary reference, but you may not present the site's branding or original content as your own.
Names, logos, screenshots, code, datasets and trademarks associated with listed resources remain the property of their respective owners. Their appearance in a directory record is for identification and does not transfer any rights in those materials.
The directory may change without preserving every prior state
Categories, records, featured placement and site features may be added, revised, suspended or removed. External links can fail for reasons outside the site's control. OSINT Tools does not promise uninterrupted operation or permanent availability of a particular entry or account feature.
Reference information requires independent judgment
The directory is provided for general information and discovery. It is not legal advice, a professional investigation service, a security assessment or a guarantee about the quality of a third-party result.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the site is provided without promises that its content will be error-free, continuously available or fit for a specific purpose. Nothing on a listing replaces validation of sources, methods and authorization.
Responsibility follows the service being used
To the extent permitted by applicable law, OSINT Tools is not responsible for loss arising from a third-party resource, a change or outage at an external destination, reliance on an outdated directory record, or use of a tool without suitable authority or verification.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded. These terms do not select a country, state, province or court where no such jurisdiction has been published by the site operator.
Site data flows are documented separately
The Privacy Policy describes the visitor identifier cookie, favorites, optional Google sign-in, analytics, external assets, logs and contact channel implemented by the current site.
Future revisions
These terms may be updated when the directory, account features or operating requirements change. The date at the top identifies the current published version. Continued use after a revision means the revised terms apply from that point forward.
